5 Benefits of Spas & Saunas

Spas are where Jimmy and I like to have our finance meetings, and they can get heated; therefore, we get to cool off with the benefits of attending a spa.

This blog is about the benefits of getting into a monthly/bi-monthly ritual of visiting a spa with a loved one.

For over four years, I’ve had the pleasure of attending a Korean Spa across the bridge in New Jersey.

Benefit # 1 - I get to let go

I’m sure you’ve heard of all the health benefits of saunas in releasing toxins, improving sleep, and relaxing muscles. When you’re at Spa, 90% of the people are there to let go

To release

When you look around, especially in the locker room, the enthusiasm and energy of other people seeking to let help me set the tone for my intention at the Spa.

Benefit # 2 - I get to eat yummy food and drinks

Jimmy finds it very weird that even though spicy food makes me cry, I enjoy every bite! So yes, I’m tearing up, blowing my nose, with the happiest face while saying, “mmmm yum, yum!”

I’ve made a tradition only to do my best to eat Korean food at the SPA. And of course, if a friend wants to go out and eat, we say yes, and I make sure I save my favorite dish - Spicy Squid!

What is something you can make memorable or traditional at your local spot?

Benefit # 3 - I get to nap

I find comfort in sleeping on a big sofa with other people nearby, reading, studying, laughing, whispering, or snoring like me. When I nap, Jimmy usually does some reading or research.

My reading only lasts about 10 minutes before I find myself snuggling on my sofa. Yep! We both get one each in a T formation. Jimmy knows I kick, so I want to keep his laptop in one piece.

This area at the Spa is our Freestyle, no judgment zone, and we each get to do our own thing and be near each other. I order my favorite Mango bubble tea when I'm on the sofa.

Benefit # 4 - I get to be in leisure mode

I love Downton Abbey (And if you're a fan, please drop your favorite season and character in the comments below!) One of my favorite scenes is when Mrs. Crawly asks, "What is a weekend?" One of the beauties of European culture is that there is always downtime and leisure.

There were moments of short leisure during the day, whether it was tea time, taking an evening stroll, or sitting on a bench by a tree having a conversation.

Besides reserving my favorite dish to eat at the Spa, I also like to secure a Chess game with Jimmy after our first round of saunas; I grab the board and an iced coffee for him while he looks for our favorite section in the Spa.

Leisure is in our perspective. Where can you find it?

Benefit # 5 - I get to be a minimalist

Wearing a uniform brings a sense of equality to me because we're all wearing the same thing! I love being stress-free about what I wear, and it's the opportunity to say

Today, I bring ME!

We leave everything behind for our first round of saunas, including cell phones. We have a meeting place outside the lockers, where we look at each other and say, "Ready?"

It's a look that says we're taking care of ourselves. We're taking the time to nurture our most significant asset - us—big breath in and a big breath out.

Superstar, you are your biggest asset. I know people depend on you, which is why scheduling a day at the Spa can benefit you and your loved one.

Check out my first video below when I wanted to tell the whole world about our favorite Spa & Sauna. Please drop your comments below and share them with a friend.

Love,

Me.
